7/1/2017 Utah Miata Club 2017 Viking River Cruise 15 Day Grand European Tour

This is a heads up to the folks that attended the Miatas In Utah 2014 Bryce Canyon event. The Utah Miata Club would like to share some of the information on events in 2016 & 2017. We still have some work to do on both events and that will come out in time. Check out the attachments & links and we hope to see you again at one or both events.

I’m sending this out and wondering if any of your Miata Club members would like to join us on the Utah Miata Club 2017 Viking River Cruise 15 Day Grand European Tour. Most of the UMC VRC 2017 GET information is on the attachment (UMC March newsletter) and links below. In short, we are looking to fill all 95 cabins on a Viking River Cruise Long Ship with Miata folks family & friend. So far 25 cabins have been booked as of 3/11/2015.

Take a look and see if you are interested. Please also feel free to share this with your Miata Club, family & friends....all are welcome.

Any question send me an email...  donncichocki@comcast.net or Mike Bailey mike@mikebaileyprinting.com . Should you be on Facebook we also have a webpage with more information & videos on the VRC. The Facebook UMC VRC Group is not open to the Public so if your interested let me know and I’ll send you an invitation to get on it.

11/28 8:30 Junior Parada Parade

Junior Parada Celebration Parade in Florence

Start Date/Time:  Saturday, November 28, 2015 8:30 AM

End Date/Time:  Saturday, November 28, 2015 12:00 PM

Description:

Parade is on Saturday, November 28.

Please sign up by November 12 so that we can

give the parade organizer the number of cars in our entry.

The Sahuaro Miata club has been formally invited to participate in the Junior Parada Parade in Florence Arizona for the 6th year in a row. The parade is the Saturday after Thanksgiving which is November 28th this year. The parade starts at 10am so we will need to be at Heritage Park at 8:30-9am. There will be plenty of time to decorate your cars if you want before the parade.  I would like to try to get a Christmas theme going again. If you need ideas check out what people did last year.  So dust off those Santa hats and garlands. We will meet at the historic church after we get done with the parade.  We will have plenty of room to take any decorations off your car.  Then join us for lunch in beautiful Florence Arizona.  Be sure to stop by the prison stores for interesting crafts on your way out of town. The Florence Junior Parada is the oldest youth rodeo in the United States. For more information please click the link below.

11/11 11:00 am Phoenix Veterans Day Parade!

We are entry #82 of 105 entries. The staging area is at N. Phx Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Ave, Phx. It's at the SE corner of Central and Bethany Home. There will be some road closures, if you need to enter the church parking lot via Montibello, which is just south of the church and east of Central. I will get info to you about road closures when I receive the email from the parade coordinator. Also where in the huge church parking lot we will be for staging. Look for a cone displaying the #82. We need to arrive in the staging area around 10 - 10:15. We'll have ample time to decorate our cars. The parade starts at 11, so even a 10:30 arrival will be OK. If you can bring a small folding chair of some kind in your trunk, you'll use it! The coordinator asks that each vehicle have proof of insurance and each driver have a drivers license, even though it has never been asked for. I signed a waiver for the Club, there's a chance you may be asked to sign this form as you enter the staging area, the coordinator doubts this will happen, but will also email me the ruling. They are trying to keep it simple. There will be water and snacks in the staging area, but bring anything you might need for yourself. After the parade (ending at 7th Street and Indian School), we will undecorate our cars and go eat lunch at TexAZ, located on the NE corner of Bethany Home and 16th Street (same place as last year). Parade starts at 11a.m. Wednesday, November 11.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, you are probably asking, what is as ‘Observation Run’?
Well, it's like a road rally without the stress. It's a contest where each participating car will travel along a specific route, making observations to answer
questions and writing down the answers along the way.  At the end of the run, all participants will enjoy lunch together, and club merchandise will be awarded to
the winners.
First of all, this is not a timed run, so if you need to stop to get some water or gas or something, that's OK. The actual driving time of the run will be between
45 minutes and an hour.Every Miata will receive a copy of the same driving directions which includes the observation questions.
Each Miata will be allowed to leave the parking lot in 3 minute intervals.  At certain spots along the way, the directions will ask you to observe what
you see and simply write it down on the provided answer sheet.  The last leg of the directions will lead you straight to a restaurant that
serves great food where we've made reservations.
The answer sheet with the most correct answers will win something nice from our club merchandise.  In case of a tie, the Miata with the closest
recorded mileage for the run will win.
Again, the run is not timed, and you need never leave your car once the run begins.  So please join Ginger (and the rest of the club) on another one of her
popular, fun, Observation Runs.
