TITAN MISSILE MUSEUM
February 28th, 2015
On Saturday February 28th we will be driving down to Sahuarita, AZ to visit the Titan Missile Silo. Please read carefully the following information as your cooperation is necessary to make this a successful run.
We will meet at Mimi’s Café on Ray Road (one block west of I-10, Exit 159) at 9:30 AM. With 10:00 AM sharp departure.
We will drive down I-10 to Cortero Road (I-10 Exit 246) where we will stop for lunch at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. After lunch we will continue down I-10 to I-19 and then on to the Museum.
We have a 2:30 reservation for 25 people. If we get there early they may have room on earlier tours – if we have more than 25 we will put some on the next tour. But:
THE MUSEUM REQUIRES A COUNT AT LEAST THREE WEEKS IN ADVANCE SO YOU MUST REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 7TH. IF YOU SNOOZE ON THIS ONE YOU MAY LOSE
The normal admission is $9.50; the senior rate is $8.50. If one person pays it is 8.50 or all. So one way or the other -it’s not a big deal. But space is limited and so we need the reservation.
Please note the following tour information:
You will descend through three (3) levels which require a 55 step climb down and up. There is a small elevator that can take only 4 people so it can be used only once on each tour and the rest of the folks must walk. The tour lasts about an hour so we should be done and on our way by 3:30 or so. Total drive time from Ray Road is 124 miles – two hours plus our stop for lunch.
The run will end at the Museum but please feel free to stay in the area and go to Tombstone, The Mission or Bisbee – all great places.
